Job Title: New Jersey Program Coordinator

Location: Your home base is in New Jersey (required). Regular in-state NJ travel required, including some overnight travel (approximately 20%), plus periodic travel (3-4x/year) to Philadelphia region. Work from your home office otherwise.
Position Type: Full-time OR can be structured as part-time.
Reports to: Executive Director and collaborates closely with colleagues.

Organization Description: Be part of a tight-knit team that helping to drive us toward a clean energy economy! The Energy Efficiency Alliance (EEA), a 501(c)3 non-profit, educates key stakeholders about energy efficiency. The affiliated 501(c)(6) trade associations, the Keystone Energy Efficiency Alliance and the Energy Efficiency Alliance of New Jersey are Pennsylvania and New Jersey’s trade associations for the energy efficiency industry. Together, the EEA family of organizations engage businesses in the EE industry to champion the economic growth and jobs impact of EE, its climate impact and opportunities for EE to play a key role in advancing a clean energy economy/
Position Summary:
The New Jersey Program Coordinator builds business relationships, organizes events, and supports geographically-focused grant-funded projects in New Jersey, ranging from workforce development projects to educating public officials. The Coordinator role involves both actively representing the organization in Western PA and being responsible for “back-office” coordination. Specific assignments will vary depending upon organizational priorities.
Responsibilities:
Research and Foster Industry Relationships – The Program Coordinator builds relationships across the region with businesses in the energy efficiency and EE-adjacent industry, along with other partners and collaborators of EEA. This involves representing EEA at various regional events, researching and compiling information about the businesses, creating and executing an outreach strategy, scheduling and conducting meetings and establishing and maintaining supporting tools or systems. The Program Coordinator will organize and conduct regular events to build relationships and/or engage businesses, whether facility tours, happy hours, small seminars, or webinars.
Serve as Special Project Lead or Support – When needed, the Program Coordinator assists the Policy Team in New Jersey and overall organizational policy priorities. Currently, these involve outreach to support heat pumps, and a variety of Workforce Development projects.
Coordinate Membership for affiliated Trade Association
The Program Coordinator supports our 501c6 trade associations, by managing membership services and systems, such as sending reminders and coordinating agendas for the monthly member calls, maintaining membership information and contacts in the database, and each month producing membership invoices. In addition, the Program Coordinator takes a leadership role in organizing the Annual Member Meeting event and engaging support for the annual KEEA/EEA-NJ Policy Conference. The Program Coordinator will produce refreshed Membership recruiting and retention materials and campaigns.
Shape EE Success Stories Work closely with the Communications Manager, supporting efforts to highlight EE success stories and to engage business voices in support of EE, including activities such as: monitoring media for EE businesses successes to showcase, recruiting story subjects throughout your interactions.
Tech and Fundraising Admin Support
The Program Coordinator completes some administrative tasks to support the organization’s technology and fundraising needs.
Qualifications:
- Communication is one of your strengths. You listen attentively, are excited to engage with people individually or delivering a presentation to a group, and you can put together a clear paragraph.
- You can conduct yourself professionally yet still genuinely be yourself.
- You thrive on being organized and can keep multiple areas of responsibility moving forward at the same time in good order.
- Tracking information in a spreadsheet or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) doesn’t scare you. We prefer some experience here but, if needed, we’ll teach you how to do it.
- People typically like you — and teammates love working with you.
- You bring a positive attitude and outlook. You take initiative and are a self-starter.
- You’re a recent graduate or a seasoned professional returning to work, or you’ve got relevant life experience.
- Education: High School required. Additional, higher learning degrees in public policy, marketing, or other related fields encouraged. Candidates with applicable life experience given full consideration.
- Position requires having ongoing access to a personal vehicle in good working condition and willingness to drive regionally on company business (reimbursed at current IRS mileage rates.)
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or acceptable reason for exemption is required for all new employees.

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience. Benefits package includes health insurance (80% coverage for employee and 50% for employee spouse/ dependents), parental leave, 401k with 3% match, basic flextime, paid holidays, summer ½ day Fridays, professional development support, and 3 weeks paid vacation after completing 3-month probationary period.

The Coordinator role involves both actively representing the organization in Western PA and being responsible for “back-office” coordination. Specific assignments will vary depending upon organizational priorities.
Responsibilities:
