On February 7th & 8th, Energy Efficiency Alliance (EEA) and Keystone Energy Efficiency Alliance (KEEA) staff attended the PA PUC Act 129 Stakeholder Meetings. For the many businesses impacted by Act 129, KEEA and EEA now share a debrief of what was discussed and provide helpful resources regarding Act 129.
In preparation of Phase V of Act 129, the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission Staff and the Statewide Evaluation Team presented the three studies:
These studies included a market breakdown by sector showing trends of performance averages, fuel usage breakdowns, and recommendations for additions and deletions of measures.
Key Takeaways:
- There will be TWO Peak Demand sessions: Summer and Winter
- With the removal of Energy Star ratings for Gas Equipment: Electric to Gas fuel switching incentives are being deleted from the TRM
- HVAC equipment will be revised to efficiencies to IECC 2021 and Updated efficiency metrics to new EER2, SEER2, and HSPF2 standards. EER, SEER, and HSPF remain in place for equipment using legacy efficiencies
